My top three enjoyed wines for February 2012

Again, narrowing down the top favourites turned out to be very difficult. I couldn't finish this post without giving a special mention to these three wines which were very enjoyable and I would strongly recommend; Maycas Del Limari Cabernet Sauvignon 2007 from Chile, Muga Reserva Seleccion Rioja 2005 from Spain and Duckhorn Merlot 2009 from Napa Valley, California.

My top three enjoyed wines in February;

1-Jim Barry The McRae Wood Shiraz 2006, Clare Valley, Australia

I just love this wine, it seems that vintage after vintage, it consistently delivers the goods. Without any doubt a top quality grape in this bottle and excellent wine making at play here.

2-Marchesi De’ Frescobaldi Tenuta Di Castiglioni 2007, Tuscany, Italy

This is where a very good vintage and a little time in your cellar pays big dividends. Awesome nose, loads of energy and flavours, which turn out to be a fantastic value.

3-Muratie Shiraz 2007, Stellenbosch, South Africa

I love a new discovery, talk about a very elegant Shiraz, finely textured with exquisite balance. Worth every penny, returned to purchase two more.
