This mature beauty is a
blend of 93% Tempranillo and 7% Mazuelo (Spanish for Carignan) with maturation
taking place in American oak (with at least 10% new oak) for 29 months with 3
years bottle aging before being released to the market, alcohol coming in at
14%.
Wow, the nose is so
invigorating with aromas of cherry, black plum, dried strawberries, exotic
spices and sandalwood. On the mouthfeel, medium bodied, ripe seductive fruit and
gentle wood spices flavours and fine grained tannins. This Gran Reserva finish
is so smooth, with great flavours lingering. What you get from this wine is
that all elements are impeccably well integrated, lots of finesse and fine
texture. Drinking well right now, but should keep improving over the next 3-5
years. Gorgeous wine, strongly recommended. Score 93 points.
